INSTALLATION
Bamboo flooring installs same as traditional hardwoods:
1. Make sure sub-floor is clean and dry. Underlay should have a vapor barrier. If sub-floor is wood, it's better to install the bamboo flooring across the direction of the existing flooring. In this way, the bamboo floor can be nailed directly to the wood.
2. The boxes should be opened in the installation area for at least 3-5 days prior to installation. After the bamboo flooring is ‘acclimatized’ with the area, you can then begin to install.
3. Bamboo is a natural product and has slight color variations from board to board. The boxes should be unpacked and laid out ahead of the installer so that color variations can be mixed in a natural, random pattern and not consolidated in a single area.
"expansion space from base wall. Ensure the starter row is firmly in place and secure before adding the remaining rows. Each piece should be nailed directly above the tongue at a 45-50 degree angle. Fasteners shall be spaced at 10-12 inch intervals with a minimum of 2 fasteners per piece.
5. If you are laying on a concrete sub-floor, all cracks and holes must be filled with a cement-based patching material. Surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth and free of dirt, wax, oil, paint, curing agents, and other contaminants that would interfere with adhesive bond. Spread high grade adhesive over the surface, immediately place flooring onto adhesive in the same way as in section 4.
MAINTENANCE
1. To keep the floor clean, simply wipe with a soft damp rag or mop.
2. Keep the floor free of water. Floors should be wiped immediately when a spillage occurs.
3. Fit furniture legs should be fitted with pads so as to avoid scratching.
4. Use mats at the entrance of outside doors in order to keep dirt or sand outside.
5. Avoid scratching by hard objects or high-heeled shoes.
