In many countries, trees cannot be cut so as to save the forest resources. Today, bamboo is regarded as the best replacement for hardwood. Bamboo floors, furniture, etc. are loved by more and more people. It's considered to be a "GREEN" material. 1. Fast Growing Bamboo is a legitimate renewable resource. It is the fastest growing plant in the world. It grows one third faster than the next fastest tree. The maturation period of bamboo is only 3-5 years while hardwood needs at least 10-20 years before being harvested. Bamboo has a very extensive root system on which new growth occurs after the old is harvested. 2. Harder than Oak and Maple Bamboo has been proved to be harder than Oak or Maple. Test results prove that bamboo is about 27% harder than Oak, and 13% harder than Maple. It is 50% more stable than Oak and 2.5 times more stable than Maple. Bamboo flooring is more durable than traditional hardwood. 3. Not Easy to Shrink, Swell or Curve As the bamboo fibers are vertical, they are processed (i.e. cut) in the same direction of its fibers. This reduces moisture absorption as compared with traditional woods where the fibers are round and thus absorb water much easier. In the manufacturing process, bamboo is steamed and dried to reach a moisture level of 8-10%. This prevents the bamboo pieces from curving after installation. Bamboo is also anti-mildew. 4. Easier Installation & Maintenance Bamboo floors can be installed as easily as other traditional wood floors. Further, it requires less maintenance after installation. The user only needs to use a damp mop when cleaning! NO need to wax either!

According to European Standard test results, formaldehyde emission is about 0.13ppm while testing with IAQ Guidelines yields emissions of 0.10ppm. Mildew-resistant and Moth-proof Before final manufacturing finish, the bamboo strips are cooked, carbonized, and disinfected. This process thoroughly rids the product of moths and mildew. The water content inside the GL PANDA Bamboo is strictly controlled after drying. Thus its anti-moth & anti-mildew properties makes this product an environmentally sound decorating material.
